Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) warning messages

Since April 2026, Microsoft introduced stricter Remote Desktop security warnings to combat phishing attaches that misuse RDP files to steal credentials. As such the following message may be displayed:

It is unfortunately not possible to bypass this message but ticking the 'Remember my choices...' box will remember the selected resources from the list (typical use requires Drives, Clipboard and Printers).

Note that halo can also be accessed via a web browser, for example:

https://desktop.gpmhalo.co.uk/rdweb/webclient/index.html

This has the benefit of bypassing the warning message and the accessibility of a browser but does not support multiple screen displays and also prevents the use of copy/paste of files to/from the remote desktop environment.
